What is the meaning of Shiva’s manifestation as a blazing and infinite column of fire?

According to the Chapter-7 of Vidyeśvara-saṃhitā in Shiva Purana,

Shiva manifested as an infinite, blazing column of fire to settle a dispute of supremacy between Brahma and Vishnu. Viṣṇu assumed the form of a Boar and went down in search of the root. Brahmā in the form of a swan went up in search of the top.

The Shivalinga is the representation of that infinite, blazing column of fire of Shiva.

——

Actually, it is a parable to explain esoterically, the rise of Kundalini - divine force (a coiled serpent in dormant form) from Muladhara chakra to Sahasrara Chakra, in any individual.

Some say it is a feminine energy.

——

In Rig Veda, the BRAHMAN -the formless ENERGY, was mentioned as Ahirbudhnya (अहिर्बुध्न्य) - "the serpent of the depths/atmosphere".

Rig Veda 7.34.17

मा नोऽहिर्बुध्न्यो रिषे धान्मा यज्ञो अस्य स्रिधदृतायोः
mā no 'hir budhnyo riṣe dhān mā yajño asya sridhad ṛtāyoḥ ||

English translation:

“Let not Ahirbudhnya be disposed to work us harm; let not the yagna of the worshipper be disregarded.”

——

The Brahman (Agni) was mentioned in Rig Veda 6.9.7 as lying in darkness - agne tamasi tasthivāṃsam.

——

Rig Veda 1.24.2 says, ONE should continuously adhere to/remember (manāmahe) AGNI (the masculine energy), who will take ONE to the DIVINE ADITI. And, ONE will experience the UNION of the Masculine and Feminine ENERGIES - pitaraṃ ca dṛśeyam mātaraṃ ca.

It is अर्धनारीश्वर - ardhanārīśvara - the DIVINITY who is half-female.

अग्नेर्वयं प्रथमस्यामृतानां मनामहे चारु देवस्य नाम नो मह्या अदितये पुनर्दात्पितरं दृशेयं मातरं

—-

Rig Veda 4.1.11 says, AGNI (the BRAHMAN) was the first one to appear, without feet, without head, and concealing his two ends (infinity).

This is nothing but what

·        the Hatha Yoga says about rise of Kundalini and reaching and merging with ENERGY at Sahasrara Chakra

·        Shiva Purana says about manifestation of Shiva as an infinite, blazing column of fire
