The inner meaning of the phrase कृण्वन्तो विश्वमार्यम् - kṛṇvanto viśvam āryam - in Rig Veda 9.63.5

Rig Veda 9.63.5

इन्द्रं वर्धन्तो अप्तुरः कृण्वन्तो विश्वमार्यम् अपघ्नन्तो अराव्णः

indraṃ vardhanto apturaḥ kṛṇvanto viśvam āryam | apaghnanto arāvṇaḥ ||

----

I think, the Arya Samaj people wrongly interpreted kṛṇvanto viśvam āryam as "let us make the world arya".

---

Indra as per Rig Veda indicates, the DIVINITY/Illumination of the Mind of the spiritual practitioner.

Ārya indicates the Illuminated/SELF REALISED state of the individual.

Hence, the correct inner meaning of the Rik shall be as follows:

Augmenting/Strengthening actively the divinity/Illumination of Mind (Indra) within and driving away all vices and weakness of mind, let us make the inner spiritual realm covered with DIVINITY/āryam.
